Most of the bread in both Thailand and the Philippines was little more than a wheat ration and a delivery system for butter, margarine and fruit flavored corn syrup which contained a few chunks of real fruit. European bakers made the only stuff worth eating.
Was out of the hotel this morning too early for breakfast. Airport options were limited. Settled on a cured bacon sandwich that also had a pork spread on a French roll. It was the best generic bread I’ve had in years. Am looking forward to seeing what a real bakery can do.

Had another variety of pork sandwich as part of dinner. The bread was much better. Much. Better.
