First she slept in a cardboard box located where her torso is in the photo above. The box was as wide as the raised area. She outgrew the box but kept using it. Maybe she was training to be a contortonist. Someone threw the box in the trash but Lucky kept sleeping where the box had been until her torso no longer fit. She then picked this stool for her spot.
Lucky was one of the 7 pups born under a car in a vacant lot adjacent to my apartment building. She was adopted and named by Beau, the adolescent daughter of my landlord. Lucky’s first name was a Thai name. Beau renamed her Lucky after the pup was hit by a car, escaping with a limp which lasted a few days.
