The morning after discovering termites in the apartment, I saw many had shed their wings on my balcony (photo below). Hmmm … if this is widespread the landlady already knows about it.
Yeah, you could say that. This drainspout bucket is at the bottom of the only stairs to the upper floor apartments.
A breeze had already swept away most of the discarded wings. The wind couldn’t budge the ones that had landed in standing water. The formerly attached termites were nowhere to be seen. Buildings here are mostly concrete, so termite damage to door jams, doors and furniture is all one has to worry about. I wonder if geckos eat termites.
