One of the musical instrument stores in towns redid their store front product display. Walked in, saw the usual mix of guitars, amps, assorted drum kit accessories and a few ukuleles. It was the Casio keyboards that caught my interest. The prices were ridiculous, but that’s par for Hua Hin. Wrote down the model numbers so I could Google them later.
Turns out both were discontinued models, formerly the bottom of their respective lines. Buyers either didn’t need or didn’t know how useful the features were that separated these models from the next more expensive ones. But they sure figured out fast the keyboards did not come with AC power adapters. The cost of either power adapters or a pile of rechargeable batteries was unacceptable.
Savaged by online reviews, these two models ended up on the web’s bargain basement sites at deep discount. The prices I saw in town were double those close out prices. Oh well. At least the high cost of living here discourages much of the riffraff.
