About 3 times a week I review the Spanish electronic flash cards that are due. When the mistake rate is too high for a word I create additional cards with mnemonic aids or easy to remember phrases. Sometimes looking up these additional uses of the word confirms a common belief that many of the readily available lists of common words are riddled with errors. Today I discovered I’d been trying to learn a Spanish word for a body part that is accurate only when the body in question is a chicken.
