The lot next door was prepped for construction about a month ago then sat quiet. A few days ago lines of stakes appeared showing where the piles should be driven. Today most of the pile driving equipment and crew moved in:
While the men built the shelter (no photos) one of the women prepared food:

By nightfall they had a sleeping platform, electricity for the rice cookers, fans and TV, water in jugs and darkness for a urnial (did you spot the two men to the left of the platform?):
I intend to maximize my time out of the apartment and the town during the pile driving phase. In 6 weeks my 3 week Japan trip starts. One week after that I’m heading to Chiang Mai for 3 months. Maybe I’ll miss most of the construction.
